ProjectWorld® & World Congress for Business Analysts® Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to invite you to join me at ProjectWorld® & World Congress for Business Analysts®, taking place September 9-11 at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Orlando, FL. Download the brochure for the full agenda.

The theme is "Preparing Today's Leaders to Confront Tomorrow's Increasing Complexity"

This year's PW&WCBA agenda focuses on bridging the gap between theory and practice by championing and celebrating the role of the PM and BA as true contributors to the overall business with specific examples of how and why, and new ideas to help you achieve more.

PW&WCBA delivers the practical professional development to help you accelerate best practices and become more valuable to your entire organization.

As a speaker, I would like to offer you a special 20% discount to join me at the event.
To have your discount applied mention priority code PW13PB when registering.

I hope to see you on Tuesday, September 10 when I will be presenting during the Best Practice in PM/BA Collaboration track:

Let's Collaborate Not Tolerate: How to Build a Successful BA/PM Partnership
How many times have you been on a project where you could not get into a good rhythm with your project manager or business analyst? This tension could hinder the ultimate success you could have on the project. This presentation will give you best practices, tips and tricks on how to create an environment of PM/BA collaboration to break through the barriers of toleration.

Joining me at the event is an impressive keynote line-up, including:
  • Naomi Karten, Author, Changing How You Manage and Communicate Change
  • Ralph Luck, Former Property Director, UK Olympic Delivery Authority (London 2012 Olympics)
  • Carey Lohrenz, U.S. Navy's First Female F-14 Fighter Pilot, Team Building, Leadership & Strategy Expert
  • William J. Greenwald, Director, Performance Coaching and Advisory Practice (PCAP), Humana, Inc.

Plus, earn up to 36 PDUs/CDUs in one conference package. That's almost half of the credits needed to maintain your certification and more than any other conference option!

Join me and know that you are investing in yourself and your career. I hope to see you in Orlando!

It's Been Awhile

WOW!!!!  It's been awhile since I have written a post.  2012 got really busy for me as I took on a new role at work.  A role I had been working toward for 4 1/2 years.  I moved into management and into a role of operational excellence with a focus on business process modeling and compliance.  This is unique in that we (myself and team) get to create the infrastructure, approach, etc...from scratch.  We get to be creative and used our past experiences to meet our goals.  So far I have learned a lot and we have created an infrastructure to get started that we will be tweaking as we continue to learn and experience how things work.  I plan to write me in my blog throughout the year with some lessons learned as I go through this experience with my team.  I will probably write on topics related to team member development, leadership, building an infrastructure, partnering, building relationships and more.  I'm excited about 2013 and what it will bring.  Though there will be challenges, I know, there will be many successes.

The one bit of advise I leave you now is that if you haven't done so already do some self reflection on what went well in 2012 and what didn't.  Determine some goals for yourself for 2013 and try to meet those goals.  It's not about how many goals you can write down but how many you can actually achieve that will have the impact you need in your life journey at this time.

Continue to press forward.  Learn from your past, focus on your present and walk into your future!

Talk to you soon!
